Orta - A strong earth tremor shook central Turkey early yesterday, killing at least three people, injuring dozens and sending residents of the capital, Ankara, fleeing into the streets.
At least 81 people were reported to have been injured. In the small town of Cerkes, at the epicentre of the 30-second tremor, people were hurt jumping from buildings in panic.
Damage was heavier in and around the small nearby farming community of Orta. Doctors in Orta said they had treated people for crushed and broken limbs, stress and trauma.
