Racing: Today's race meeting at Clonmel has been abandoned due to waterlogging.
Track officials met at 10am to assess conditions and were left with no choice but to cancel the action after the course failed to soak up significant rainfall.
"The meeting has been cancelled because the course is waterlogged," Turf Club spokesman Cliff Noone confirmed.
"They have had 71 millimetres of rain since last night and up to now which is a tremendous amount.
"It's still raining there now so they've really had no option but to cancel."
Officials at Kempton have called a 7.30am inspection ahead of Friday's meeting.
Although clerk of the course Brian Clifford covered the track yesterday evening, overnight snow has complicated matters.
The snow is currently lying on top of the covers but Clifford is hoping it will clear later today.
