Two masked men escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be about £2,000, after a raid on a National Irish Bank branch in Limerick city yesterday.
The raiders entered the branch at Greenpark Shopping Centre around 10.20 a.m. One was armed with a knife and the second carried a baseball bat.
A Garda spokesman said they vaulted the counter and ransacked drawers before fleeing with what he described as a small amount of cash. They were driven from the scene by a third man in a red Honda Prelude car, afterwards found abandoned nearby. Investigating gardai at Roxboro station can be contacted at 061401630.
