London - The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) advised yesterday that no manslaughter charges should be pressed over the Paddington train crash, Britain's worst rail disaster in a decade.
The CPS said even though the case revealed "corporate failings" there was not enough evidence to bring manslaughter charges in connection with the disaster, which claimed 31 lives and injured 400 people.
The crash happened in October 1999 when a Thames commuter train leaving Paddington station crashed with a Great Western express, after passing through a red signal.
