The third and final cricket Test between India and England headed for a draw after bad weather wrecked the fourth day's play today.

Just 15.4 overs were bowled during the day as heavy overnight rain and an incessant drizzle since morning allowed play for only short bursts on either side of the tea break.

In that time, England bowled India out for 238 to gain a first innings lead of 98 runs, which was extended to 131 by stumps as the tourists reached 33 for no loss in their second knock.

Only a bold declaration by captain Nasser Hussain on the fifth day can keep England's slim hopes alive of forcing a win to draw the three-Test series.
