Rainstorms in northern Bangladesh have led to the deaths of at least 25 people and injured over 1,000.
Local reports say 7,000 people were left homeless by the storms on Sunday and yesterday.
Most of the deaths were caused by collapsed houses or lightning, reports said.
At least 15,000 tin-roofed or mud-and-thatch houses and rice crops have been destroyed in the farming region 170 miles north of the capital, Dhaka.
Ten people were killed and nearly 300 injured in the hardest-hit Gaibandha district, said Mr Mohammad Abdus Sabur, the area's chief administrator. "We are yet to get a full picture of the casualties and destruction," he said.
Dhaka newspapers quoted officials as saying another 15 people were killed and 1,000 injured in neighboring Jamalpur, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur, Naogaon, Nilphamari and Netrokona districts.
The death toll could rise as a number of injured were taken to hospital in critical condition, Ittefaqnewspaper reported.
