The uniform is believed to have belonged to a member of the infamous K Company of the Auxiliaries, which was responsible for the burning of Cork city in December 1920.

It is one of a large number of uniforms, medals, photographs and documents on show as part of the exhibition to commemorate the Irish Volunteers of 1913 to 1923.

The display will be on view from 5.30pm at the River Lee Hotel on Western Road in Cork.
