Former Italy striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has signed for Dundee in a two-year deal, it was confirmed at a news conference held by the Scottish premier league club today.
The 34-year-old agreed the move after holding extensive talks with Dundee director Giovanni Di Stefano over the past month.
Ravanelli, Dundee's biggest signing since Argentine Claudio Caniggia in 2000, could make his debut against Scottish champions Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.
Dundee face Ravanelli's hometown club Perugia, where he began his career, in a UEFA Cup first round match on Wednesday but the forward is not eligible for European action.
Ravanelli, who arrives at Dundee boasting a wealth of experience, scored for Juventus in their 1996 Champions League final success against Ajax Amsterdam, a 1-1 draw after extra time that the Italian side won on penalties.
He has since played for Middlesbrough, Olympique Marseille, Lazio and Derby County.
