Those seeking to escape the cold this weekend can visit the great outdoors inside - the RDS, that is - at the Irish Outdoor Adventure Show.

The exhibition will feature interactive features, speakers, and adventure products that seek to entice visitors away from the comfort of their centrally heated living rooms.

Although the weather is set to improve slightly this weekend, there is still the chance of sharp frosts overnight and icy roads in the mornings so care should be taken, especially on sheltered roads and higher ground.

It is recommended that motorists continue to avoid the Sally Gap while the Wicklow Gap is passable with care.
