GAA: Last Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 Final between Dublin and Kilkenny brought in the highest-ever viewing figures for TG4 when broadcast live on the dedicated Irish-speaking channel.

As Dublin created a little bit of history by winning their first league title in 72 years, television audience figures peaked at 430,000 viewers at 5.35pm with an average of 310,000 viewers for the entire match.

The figures were higher than the football league final the previous Sunday when Dublin lost to Cork at Croke Park.

The Nielsen systems only measure domestic viewership and doesn’t include those watching in pubs, clubs and other public places.
