Redknapp adamant Bale not for sale

Soccer: Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is adamant man of the moment Gareth Bale is not for sale at any price

Soccer:Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is adamant man of the moment Gareth Bale is not for sale at any price. The winger again stole the show last night as he inspired Spurs to a famous 3-1 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League.

The Welsh wizard followed up his hat-trick heroics in the San Siro with a devastating display of power and pace to run Inter ragged at the back.

His performances have fuelled speculation linking him with a move to some of Europe's top clubs, with Inter, Real Madrid and Barcelona all thought to be keeping tabs on Bale.

However, Redknapp insists Spurs can keep hold of the former Southampton starlet as they are under no pressure to sell him.

"As far as selling him goes, the people who own Tottenham are not poor people," said Redknapp. "They don't need to sell him. I don't think Gareth needs to go anywhere else to play his football. He needs to stay here at White Hart Lane."

Redknapp added: "What confidence you must have as a player when you can come and do that to people who are so highly rated."

Bale must surely be considered one of the best players in the world on current form but Redknapp was reluctant to compare the 21-year-old to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He's a different sort of player," said the Spurs boss. "Ronaldo's a fantastic player; amazing goalscorer. This kid is just improving, improving; he's just getting better and better."
