Former Argentina international Fernando Redondo could make his long-awaited AC Milan debut at Empoli this weekend, two years after arriving at the San Siro from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Redondo, who has not played for the 'Rossoneri' since his move from Real Madrid in August 2000 because of damaged knee ligaments, has been named in coach Carlo Ancelotti's 22-man squad for tomorrow's trip to Tuscany.
Italy international Alessandro Nesta could also feature for the Italian league leaders after overcoming an injury to his left thigh.
Brazilian midfielder Rivaldo however is not part of Ancelotti's plans after being told by club doctors to rest for up to three weeks.
Rivaldo picked up a slight strain on his left thigh during Milan's Champions League victory over reigning European champions Real Madrid on Tuesday.
AC Milan are top of Serie A thanks to a better goal difference than second-placed Juventus, who also have 25 points.
