Peter Reid plans to take a break from football - but admits the right offer will make him do an immediate U-turn.
Reid was sacked by Sunderland on Monday after a miserable start to the season, ending his seven-and-a-half-year reign on Wearside.
But Reid has no rush to make an immediate return to management, as he told BBCRadio 5 Live, " I would like to have a rest now, as seven and a half years on the spin is a long time.
"However, it all depends on if anything comes up, although preferably, I would like a nice rest. I don't want to speculate about other managers' jobs at other football clubs.
"I am quite philosophical about leaving Sunderland. We haven't had the best start to the season and the board decided they wanted a change.
"There is no use crying about it, although there are loads of things I would have done differently."
Reid also stuck up for under-pressure England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, whose affair with Ulrika Jonsson has been splashed across today's newspapers.
"He gets paid to manage the national team and his private life is his private life,"
Reid added: "It happened to Terry Venables and Glenn Hoddle as well. I don't agree with it - but you just have to get on with it."
