Reiziger denies having had talks with United

Barcelona's Dutch international defender Michael Reiziger has denied having had talks with Manchester United.

Barcelona's Dutch international defender Michael Reiziger has denied having had talks with Manchester United.

Reiziger, relegated to third choice right back at the Nou Camp behind Carles Puyol and Gabri, was linked with a move to Old Trafford over the weekend.

United's defence has been questionable this season, undermining their bid for a fourth successive Premiership title.

Reiziger's Holland international team-mate Jaap Stam was sold to Lazio for Stg£16.5million and replaced with former France captain Laurent Blanc on a free transfer from Inter Milan.

It was reported that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was lining up Reiziger too, but the 28-year-old told Spanitoday: "I have not spoken to Manchester United.

"It's not the time to talk about that now, we'll see what happens at the end, however, the most important thing at the moment is Wednesday's game against Panathinaikos in the Champions League."
