St Joseph's Hospital ink "Raheny, Dublin, has been sold because of a "shortage of personnel and a lack of finance". The new owner, Dr Abdullah Al Anizi, a Saudi Arabian, is believed to be interested in sports medicine and cardiac rehabilitation.

According to a statement yesterday from the Sisters of St Joseph of Chambery, he agreed to buy the hospital with the intention of "providing new departments and new equipment, in existing departments". The order chose not to sell to a developer because it wished to ensure the continuance of the hospital "to serve the needs of the sick and to maintain employment".
