A MAN arrested for abusive and insulting behaviour outside the home of the Taoiseach on Monday night was remanded in custody for a week for psychiatric assessment at Dunshaughlin Court yesterday.

Mr Thomas Healy, of no fixed address, was arrested in Dunboyne on Monday under the Public Order Act. Garda Barry Monaghan said he called Mr Bruton a "mass murderer" and said he deserved to burn and refused to leave the area.

Garda Michael Flynn said the man alleged Mr Bruton condoned abortion, while condemning the IRA. Mr Healy said he went to Mr Bruton's home to speak to him or to his wife.

Judge John Brophy remanded Mr Healy in custody to Kilcock court next Tuesday and fixed bail of £100 personal bail and £250 independent surety.
