A Dublin woman was yesterday remanded in custody for one week on a charge arising from the death of Kenyan man Fareh Swaleh Noor (38) in March, 2005.
Kathleen Mulhall, photographed leaving the Dublin District Court yesterday, was charged with knowingly acting with intent to impede the prosecution of another person on a murder charge, contrary to Section 7 of the Criminal Law Act.
Det Sgt William Hickey told Judge Patricia Ryan that Ms Mulhall, formerly of Kilclare Gardens, Tallaght, was cautioned and charged after she voluntarily agreed to attend Mountjoy Garda station. Ms Mulhall made no reply when charged, he said.
Det Sgt Hickey said the alleged offence took place at Richmond Cottages, Ballybough, Dublin, in March 2005 and he asked that the date on the charge sheet be amended from March 20th to 21st that year.
Ms Mulhall did not speak during the three-minute hearing. A
request for legal aid was granted
by Judge Ryan, who remanded the defendant to appear before
the court again on February 20th.
