The removal of the man who shot dead his six-year-old daughter in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, on Thursday takes place in Co Cork today.
Mr Christopher Crowley (44), a former school teacher, shot his daughter Deirdre with a sawn-off shotgun before killing himself as gardaí traced him to a house in Clonmel.
Mr Crowley abducted Deirdre from her mother Christine O'Sullivan's Co Cork home in December 1999. Despite television and radio appeals, Mr Crowley and his daughter were not found.
The two died after a second call to the house on the outskirts of Clonmel on Thursday. Gardaí went to the house after their suspicions were aroused during inquiries in the area.
When approaching the house for a second time they heard a muffled sound. Officers then forced their way into the house and discovered the bodies of Mr Crowley and Deirdre.
The Garda Commissioner has ordered an internal inquiry into the Garda actions preceding the deaths.
Gardaí investigating the deaths say they will prosecute anybody found to have helped Mr Crowley evade the law.
