Stade Rennes have opened up fresh negotiations with Chelsea for Czech international goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Stade Rennes have opened up fresh negotiations with Chelsea for Czech international goalkeeper Petr Cech .

The French side rejected an offer earlier in the week for the goalkeeper but the London club reportedly upped their offer.

Rennes maybe resigned to losing their stopping but are keen to do so in the summer rather than midway through the season.

"We won't block Petr at the end of the season," the club's chairman Emmanuel Cueff told Sky Sports.

"We have set up a new meeting with Chelsea."

Chelsea have spent £111 million on new players since Roman Abramovich took over the club last year, but have not bought anyone since the transfer window opened on January 1 st.

Earlier in the week AS Roma denied that their Romanian defender Christian Chivu would be joining the English premier league club.
