The presentation of written legal submissions regarding the proposed imprisonment of a Star newspaper crime reporter, Mr Barry O'Kelly, has been adjourned for a week on the State's application.
Judge James Carroll, at Dublin Circuit Civil Court, will now accept submissions from Mr Kevin Feeney SC, for Mr O'Kelly, and the Attorney General, Mr Dermot Glee son SC, on December 19th.
Mr O'Kelly was told he would have to go to prison for failing to identify his source of information relating to a civil claim by a Dublin secretary, Ms Nicola Gallagher, against the Garda Representative Association. Ms Gallagher, agreed confidential settlement terms in 1992 with the GRA which she had sued for alleged wrongful dismissal and sexual harassment.
