Reports that a passenger plane is under military escort flying over the US city of Philadelphia have been denied by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
A spokesperson for the Eastern Region of the FAA confirmed there was a plane flying under military escort over Phildelphia but denied it was a commercial airplane.
Speaking to ireland.comhe said: "There is a plane being escorted into Philadelphia airspace but it is definitely not a commercial airplane."
