La Gondola restaurant in Temple Bar, Dublin, was closed down for four days after a closure order was served last month by environmental health officers.
A closure order is served where it is deemed that there is or is likely to be a grave and immediate danger to public health at or in the premises.
Closure orders can refer to the immediate closure of all or part of the food premises, or all or some of its activities.
The restaurant was one of two closed down by food safety officials last month according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland's November report.
The other premises was the Punjab Restaurant, Parnell Street, Ennis, Co Clare, which reopened three days after the closure order was served on November 22nd.
Dr John O'Brien, chief executive of FSAI, stressed food safety practices yesterday.
