Dutch forward Martijn Reuser helped Ipswich Town leap to third in the Premiership, inspiring a 3-1 comeback victory at home to Bradford City today.

The win strengthened Ipswich's bid for one of England's three places in next season's Champions League, although fourth-placed Liverpool, one point below them, have a game in hand.

Benito Carbone gave Bradford the lead with a 30-metre free-kick in the 29th minute but Reuser struck after 59 and 72 minutes to put Ipswich ahead and Mark Burchill put the game beyond the visitors with a poacher's header 15 minutes from time.

Reuser scored his first goal after robbing defender Andy O'Brien and cutting inside to curl a pinpoint right-foot shot past goalkeeper Matt Clarke.

His second came from a free-kick 20 metres from goal which he curled over the defensive wall into the top corner.

Scottish striker Burchill then made sure, redirecting Herman Hreidarsson's header from a corner past Clarke in the Bradford goal, condemning the premier league's bottom club to a fifth successive defeat.
