A reward of €10,000 was offered today for information that leads to the capture of a gang who viciously attacked a south Dublin man leaving him hospitalised for the last year.

Crimestoppers, the anonymous freephone crime-fighting service, made the appeal on the anniversary of the assault on Vincent O'Brien (41).

Mr O'Brien, from Bluebell, was attacked by a group of Irish men in their late 20s at 2.45am on Thursday, August 18th, 2005, on Huband Road, Bluebell, near the Bernard Curtis Flats.

He has not left a Dublin hospital since and is now totally dependent on care due to the extremely serious injuries he sustained.
