THE rights of parents to protection for the ethos of the schools of their choice must always be protected, the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Connell, said.

He expressed the hope that future legislation would protect the rights of parents, trustees and boards of management in helping to provide young people with an education that reflected the values and faith of their parents.

Dr Connell was speaking yesterday at the blessing of Hartstown Community School in Clonsilla. The school, which has 800 pupils, was officially opened by the Taoiseach, Mr Bruton.
