Police in Bradford were attacked by rioters armed with bricks and bottles in a third night of violence in the city.

Police in Bradford were attacked by rioters armed with bricks and bottles in a third night of violence in the city.

At least 10 people have been arrested, and police are still dealing with disturbances in the Ravenscliffe and Holme Wood areas. No police have been reported injured so far.

Trouble began last night at 9 p.m. in Harrogate Road, Greengates, followed by further disorder in nearby Ravenscliffe.

At the same time, groups began gathering on the Holme Wood estate, a police spokesman said.

"Police attended and bricks and bottles were thrown at officers," the spokesman said. "Police officers are still deployed in both areas."

But there were no reports of disturbances in Manningham, the largely Asian area of the city where rioting broke out on Saturday night.

Chief Supt Stuart Hyde said police were taking "positive action" to contain the situation.

"We ask the people of Bradford not to get involved in these incidents. We are moving quickly and effectively to stop such criminal activities," he said.
