New speed limits for the State's roads will come under discussion in the Dáil this afternoon when the new Road Traffic Bill comes before the House.

The Bill proposes changing speed limits to kilometres per hour, a requirement of EU legislation.

Some limits are expected to be rounded up slightly, while others will be rounded downwards in built-up areas.
