Hundreds of the country's traffic signs are to get a multi-million euro revamp in coming months.
The National Roads Authority (NRA) has issued tenders in relation to more than a dozen primary and secondary routes covering thousands of miles in Leinster, Connacht and Leinster.
Three separate contracts for National Sign Refurbishment relate to the N1, N2, N3, N7 and N12 in Munster, Leinster and Connacht.
Signs on the N4, N5, N60, N61, in Leinster and Connacht are also included as well as the N27, N28, N69, N70, N71, N86 in Munster.
The civil engineering contract, in conjunction with Transport 21, includes the maintenance of traffic signs, including regular cleaning and trimming of hedgerows and vegetation around them.
The successful tender firm will also replace or remove badly damaged or obsolete signs along with offering a call-out and repair service.
The NRA aims to receive all tender applications by February 27th.
