A robber who pretended to be having an epileptic fit stole a substantial sum of cash in Derry last night.
The robbery happened in a bureau-de-change in the Whitehouse Retail Park, Templecourt at 9.30pm.
A member of staff who went to fetch the man a glass of water was punched and kicked when he returned.
"The robber escaped with a substantial sum of money, both pounds sterling and in euro," a police spokeswoman said.
She said the staff member and some members of the public chased the robber who dropped some of the money.
He was described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, around five foot, ten inches in height, with brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue top, pale-coloured shorts and white runners.
He may have been accompanied by a woman, the spokeswoman added.
