Pop superstar Robbie Williams has today announced that he will play the Phoenix Park, Dublin, as part of his European tour near the end of next summer.
The tour starts on June 28th 2003 in Edinburgh and takes in eight countries, and including a concert in the Phoenix Park on Saturday, August 9th, 2003.
Williams has previously played to tens of thousands of people at gigs at Slane Castle. In August 1998 he played support along with Junkster, James, The Seahorses, Finley Quaye, Manic Street Preachers to headline act The Verve.
His performance that day received a huge reception from the Irish crowd and the following year, Williams headlined Slane Castle in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans.
The 28-year-old - who has just released his fifth album Escapology- has always stated his best performances come when he plays in Ireland and is said to be particularly fond of his special relationship with his Irish fans.
