Rod Stewart will play two outdoor concerts in Ireland next summer, Aiken Promotions announced today.

He will play Thomond Park in Limerick on July 4th followed by the RDS in Dublin on July 5th.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am from all usual outlets nationwide and are priced from €81.25 standing and €91.25 seated. Tickets can also bought from www.ticketmaster.ie and by ringing the dedicated booking line on 0818 719 300.

Stewart is also playing Live at the Marquee in Cork on July 7th. Tickets for the Cork gig sold out within an hour of going on sale this morning, according to a spokeswoman for Aiken Promotions.

Stewart, who has sold 250 million records, is the second big name to confirm a summer appearance at the Thomond Park stadium which was recently re-opened after a €40 million redevelopment. Elton John will appear there on June 6th.

In other concert news, Lily Allen is to play The Academy in Dublin in March. Tickets go on sale tomorrow while Finnish rockers Lordi will bring their own inimitable style to the Button Factory in Dublin on February 15. Ring the venue on (01) 6709202 for tickets.
