LAWYERS representing Ms Roisin McAliskey, who gave birth to a girl a week ago, will demand that she is released on unconditional bail this morning at a closed hearing in the High Court in London.

Under bail conditions set by the High Court before the birth of her baby, Ms McAliskey was told that she must reside in a secure room on the maternity ward of the Whittington Hospital, north London, until her baby was born.

Ms McAliskey, who is facing extradition to Germany in connection with the bombing of a British army base last June, remains at the hospital with her daughter, Loinnir.

A spokesman for Ms McAliskey's family said although they believed bail should be granted, or at least extended, to allow her to reside in a nursing home, they were facing the possibility she would be returned to Holloway Prison this evening.
