LOD, Israel - Archaeologists searching through the remains of a Roman villa where a giant third century mosaic was discovered in June have unearthed a second mosaic of exceptional quality.
In another room of the villa discovered early this year during road construction work in this town near Tel Aviv, archaeologists found a 1,800 square foot mosaic showing elephants, tigers, lions and other animals. Experts said it was one of the best preserved finds of the Roman period.
