Soccer:Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson revealed Wayne Rooney apologised to him and his teammates after ending a turbulent few days by agreeing a five-year contract.
The announcement was made by the Old Trafford club this lunchtime, ending one of the most amazing weeks in their history.
“Wayne has apologised to me and the players,” Ferguson said this afternoon. “He will also do so with the supporters.”
Rooney might have agreed a new contract but he will still be out for three weeks with an ankle injury.The striker was carried out of training on Tuesday as the storm over his future raged. And Ferguson has confirmed he will now be out of action until the middle of next month.
