Sir, - I read with interest in yesterday's issue of the Irish Times that Lord Iveagh has presented his house at 80 St. Stephen's Green, which includes a Royal Tennis Court, to the Government.

It has seemed to me almost a calamity that this tennis court has been idle for so many years, while the country has been producing such great talent in squash racquets and lawn tennis, and while the number of these courts in the world are only too few. The great cities of London, Manchester and Paris have their Royal Tennis Courts, where the game is becoming more popular every day - and why not Dublin?

I feel that if the court in St. Stephen's Green could be resurrected, there would be a ready response from many wishing to master the best of all ball games.
