THE RUC constable shot dead in a Belfast bar on Friday night by the INLA was buried yesterday after a quiet private service in Co Antrim.

The RUC Chief Constable, Mr Ronnie Flanagan, joined family and friends of Darren Bradshaw (24) at Belmont Cemetery for his burial.

The Bradshaw family had asked the media to stay away to allow them "to conduct the funeral service with the dignity Darren deserves". His parents said "We would wish no retaliation by anyone so that no other family would suffer what we are suffering."

Const Bradshaw was shot as he drank in the Parliament Bar. The INLA has admitted responsibility. He is survived by a brother and sister. Another brother, Simon, died in a car crash last September while serving in the British army.
