The RUC is still investigating the motive behind a petrol-bomb attack on the home of a Catholic family in Lisburn on Saturday night. Two girls were in the Drummard Drive house around the time of the incident, which happened around midnight. No one was injured.

However, a parked van and a garden shed were damaged, and police have appealed for anyone who has any information or noted anything suspicious to contact detectives on 01232-65022.

Meanwhile a 19-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was shot in his right leg. The shooting happened in an alley off Mount Vernon Gardens, near North Belfast's Shore Road, shortly after 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, a 33-year-old man was shot in both legs in Ballymoney, Co Antrim. The incident happened at around 1 a.m. when two masked men entered a house at Robinson Avenue and forced the man to lie on the ground. The man is said to be in a stable condition at Coleraine Hospital. One man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
