Harry Kewell would be a great addition to Liverpool and would prove a valuable "attacking option" according Liverpool legend and current striking coach, Ian Rush.
Rush wrote on icLiverpoolfc.co.ukthat Kewell was a lifelong Liverpool fan and along with Damien Duff, could provide the key to unlocking opposition defences.
"He is a cracking player and will get you goals," wrote Rush. "I briefly played alongside him in pre-season at Leeds when he was just breaking through. He was playing left midfield and he looked very special. He is a big Liverpool fan and he was always asking me about the Reds."
"I would put Kewell in the same category as Damien Duff, another player linked with Liverpool. Both are players with that extra little bit of skill which can open up defences," added the former Welsh international.
Meanwhile Liverpool are preparing to welcome the French teenage duo, Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Anthony Le Tallec to Anfield, following Le Havre's relegation from the French First Division.
Gerard Houllier signed the pair for stg£6 million in 2001 and has kept them on loan in France so that they could gain valuable experience.
Houllier had intended leaving the duo there had the club escaped relegation but despite a 2-1 win over Nice, in which both players scored, Le Havre went down and the pair now look set to make their way to England and join up with their new teammates.
"Whether they stay there depends on their club being in the top flight," said Houllier earlier in the month.
"If Le Havre stay up then we may leave them there for another six months, we'll see. In an ideal world I would like them to come over here as soon as possible because it takes time to settle over here," added the Frenchman.
