Willie Ryan will start ahead of Tommy Fitzgerald when Tipperary take to the field against Galway in Sunday's national league final Pairc na nGael.
The switch means coach Liam Sheehy has opted for Lar Corbett at full forward, with Ryan starting in the corner.
Galway's Ger Farragher will be afforded every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of the game.
Manager Ger Loughnane has included the Galway marksman, who chipped in with 1-5 during last weekend's semi-final, in his starting line-up with a final decision on his involvement to be taken later in the week.
Farragher picked up a back injury at the weekend but Loughnane has named the same side for Sunday's game at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. That means teenage star Joe Canning will appear in a league final in just his second appearance at inter-county level.
