A Ryanair flight en route from Finland to London Stansted was forced to make an emergency landing in Sweden yesterday evening because of a technical problem.

The captain diverted flight FR 2195 to Malmo Sturup where the aircraft landed safely and passengers disembarked. The aircraft was removed from service to undergo a full technical inspection.

A spare aircraft was used to transport the passengers on the rest of their journey from Malmo to London Stansted.

In a statement Ryanair said: "Ryanair's priority at all times is the safety of its passengers and crew."
