A sailor was charged yesterday with the murder of a fellow crewman of a Naval vessel earlier this year.
Ship's mechanic Mr Sean Lundon (19), James Connolly Park, Tipperary town, initially had been charged with assault causing harm to Able Seaman Brian Gorey (22), from Limerick, and remanded on bail until yesterday at Dublin District Court.
Yesterday, before Judge Miriam Malone, a new charge of murdering Mr Gorey at Sir John Rogerson's Quay on April 22nd last was brought. Judge Malone remanded him in custody and later yesterday he was granted bail in the High Court and remanded to appear again in eight weeks.
