An early decision is expected in the legal battle over a new Sainsbury supermarket in Coleraine, Co Derry.
Judgment was reserved in the Belfast High Court appeal against a ruling that planning permission was granted unlawfully. The hearing lasted three days. Building work has been suspended at Riverside regional park where £1 million has already been spent.
The rulings that planning permission was unlawful followed an application for judicial review brought by FA Wellworth and Boots The Chemist. Lord Justice Carswell said planning officials had failed to properly investigate the effect the new store would have on existing traders.
