The Samaritans are to send additional volunteers to Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, as a search operation continues for three of the five young men drowned in the Slaney river in the last two weeks.
Trained counsellors will be available at the Riverside Park Hotel in the town on November 30th and December 1st.
In all, six people have entered the Slaney since November 11th, four in Enniscorthy and one each in Wexford and Bunclody.
A Latvian man was rescued, and two bodies were recovered.
The search operation for the remaining three men was hampered by flooding and poor visibility yesterday. The Garda Underwater Unit is due to rejoin the search on Saturday.
The South Eastern Health Board has opened a freephone helpline at 1800 455 120, and Samaritans volunteers can be contacted at 1850 609 090.
