The jury trying Mr Roy Whiting, the man accused of the murder of Sarah Payne, has been sent to a hotel for a second night.
They will resume deliberations at 10.30 a.m. tomorrow.
Mr Whiting, formerly of St Augustine Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex, denies kidnap and murder.
Sarah was snatched from a country lane near her grandparents' home in Kingston Gorse, West Sussex, on July 1st last year.
