A statement by a bus workers' union representative that Army personnel would be providing "scab" labour if they operated a transport service during the Dublin bus strike was outrageous, said Mr John Dardis (PD).
Mr Dardis, deputy Government leader in the House, said that in response to a suggestion that the Army might be brought in, a spokesman for the bus workers' union had remarked on radio: "I would deem that to be scab labour." Mr Dardis described the remark as "outrageous".
