The average Irish adult uses 85 litres of water per day

The average Irish adult uses 85 litres of water per day. In its ecological charter, the Village project aims to achieve a target of under 40 litres.

Sustainable Projects Ireland Ltd has the backing of the Triodas Bank for loans as an investment option for the Village.

The Village plans to launch a local currency, a Local Exchange Trading System (LETS). LETSystems are widely recognised by economists and use a virtual currency, superimposed on the existing national system, with the object of boosting trade and retaining wealth in the locality. Several LETSystems operate in Ireland, the best known of which is the ROMA, a local Roscommon-Mayo common currency.

Co-operative housing is already common throughout Europe.
