Dublin Bus is to pay more than £10,000 in damages to each of two schoolboys who were injured in separate accidents involving hydraulically-operated bus doors.
The Circuit Civil Court approved a settlement of £10,140 for Conor Sisk (12), St Joseph's Terrace, Philipsburgh Avenue, Fairview, Dublin, who was dragged along the street by the bus after his coat caught in the doors in September 1997.
In another accident a year later, Philip O'Dwyer (14), Shancastle Park, Quarryvale, Clondalkin, Dublin, broke his right elbow when the bus door opened suddenly. Judge Desmond Hogan approved the settlement offer of £10,292.
