Geneva - A new strike of El Nino, the devastating Pacific warming phenomenon, could be more powerful than the last major episode this century which claimed thousands of lives, scientists warned yesterday. Experts gathering in Geneva for a climate research conference said the present El Nino is expected to persist into early 1998.
