Racing: Scorpion will jet out to Australia on Saturday ahead of his Melbourne Cup bid.
Aidan O'Brien's charge will have to shoulder approximately 9st 3lb in the two-mile race as the Ballydoyle team chase a first success Down Under.
The five-year-old is entered in the Jockey Club Cup at Newmarket but O'Brien confirmed: "The plan is for him to head out to Australia on Saturday for the Melbourne Cup."
Yeats finished seventh for O'Brien last year and Scorpion is a best-priced 16-1 to claim 'the race that stops a nation'.
