THE SDLP leader, Mr John Hume, announced yesterday that his party had decided on a policy of selective partition in the proposed elected forum.
It would not participate in any activities in the forum which were designed to replace the all party negotiations or place obstacles in their way, he said in a statement.
He added "However, we will engage in any forum activity whose objective is the promotion of reconciliation or confidence building measures, or in receiving submissions from community groups.
Mr Hume said the SDLP's approach to the election was clear and straightforward. "It leads directly to all party on June 10th."
